Okay... So I thought there should be a quick, easy recipe for pancakes WITHOUT the oven OR stove. ( I needed to use this, because my mom decided that I couldn't use the stove or oven for breakfast, and Emily and I were SERIOUSELY craving pancakes. )
Anyway, heres the recipe for some delicious, 'light and fluffy' toaster oven pancakes.
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
2 cups milk
2 eggs
1/3 cup melted butter
1 tbs. sugar
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Food coloring ( Optional. )
PREPARING THE BATTER
In a small mixing bowl, beat or whisk the eggs. Then put them aside, and throw out the shells. ( I find it easiest to clean up as I go along. But most of the times I don't. ) In a large mixing bowl, mix together the dry ingredients. ( If you can't tell what those are, then you really shouldn't be baking. So BE GONE, fool. ) Add the butter, milk, and beaten eggs to the dry ingredients, and stir, beat, or whisk them all together so that the batter is smooth, with no lumps of any kind. Add food coloring as you wish. ( Oooh.. Fancy language there- eh? )
PREPARING THE TOASTER OVEN
Take the metal try from your toaster oven, and take a piece of either wax paper or tin foil. ( I'm not sure which one works better. ) Make the piece large enough so that it covers the whole tray. Not butter the piece of paper or foil thuroughly. ( Please DO NOT comment on my spelling. Its summer vacation. ) Now, if you have METAL cookie cutters, ( Not plastic, METAL, ) then get them out. If not, you need to make you're own out of tin foil. Taka a long piece of tin foild, and squish it into a coil. Then attach the two loose ends, and push it onto the tray, so that it doesn't come loose or leak while you are baking. You can make them any size or shape you want. Then pour the batter, ( Or spoon it, ) onto the try, into the cookie cutter/ tin foil coil-circle. Now put this in the toaster oven, turn the heat anywhere from 250-350, and cook for 7-15 minutes, depending on the thickness. I didn't flip it, but you could if you wanted too. Continuosely ( Again, no comments on the spelling, ) check if they are done. When they are, take them out of the toaster oven, ( right now is the time to use an oven mitt, )and take the cookie cutter off from around them. Let them cool, scrape them off with a spatula, and enjoy!
I have no clue how many pancakes this makes. SO don't ask.
